Maiden name: Adrien Walker
Row Club or Varsity: 1 year club 3 years varsity
Years with UB Rowing: walked on in 1996 and continued through 2000
Memories: The smell of cereal rowing in the am at West Side. Paying the toll on the 190 and throwing the change too hard that it missed the bucket. The foggy mornings at Tonawanda Creek, and daily rigging of the boats until the pull barn was set up. The long van/ bus rides/ studying in the empty trailer at regattas, and hanging out with all my rowing friends.
Accomplishment: 3rd place at states my senior year, it was an epic battle to the finish.
Major: physical therapy
Current occupation: Physical Therapist, Rowing Coach and Wife/Mom of 4
Advice to current student athletes: Enjoy every moment, be present, and learn sculling at some point in your rowing career! It will guarantee you can always come back to rowing with or without a teammate. Also keep your fitness habits from rowing, your future self/body will thank you.
